ARTspace Redux

Twenty-five or so years ago, before anyone thought of Art Walks or midtown revivals, a group of Sacramento artists opened a gallery on J Street, near 10th. Michael Himovitz was around the corner and the Broiler next door. The gallery was ARTspace.

Time moved on, rents moved up and the gallery moved further up J-St and finally closed.

The members followed each other to other co-ops and other galleries, but a core group always maintained their connection: hanging shows together in various venues; meeting monthly to discover new directions; welcoming new members.
